BIO

Zen is the 3rd boat of this name for owner Gordon Ketelby following on from his Sydney 38 and Farr 40 class yachts. Zen has campaigned actively in the CYCA Bluewater Pointscore series but is more at home on the regatta circuit. A largely Corinthian program, Gordan has achieved some fantastic results over the last few years with his loyal crew and looks to keep this going through a busy 2022 Offshore and inshore campaign including what is possibly our last Hobart campaign in 2022.

The campaign is managed by Doyle Sails Sydney owner Shane Guanaria with the crew including tacticians Sean Kirkjean, David Chapman and Finn Alexander at different times. Youth academy alumni Tom Barker (Navigator/Trimmer), Farr 40 world champion Mark Langford (Trimmer) and 18 foot skiff JJ Giltinan winner Tim Austin (firefighter, “Mr everywhere”) from a large part of the crew along with champion 16 foot skiff sailor Jack Andrew and Hobart winner Dan Williams running the pit. Gordon is always keen on promoting youth and women sailing and has offered many opportunities for young sailors to campaign a grand prix race boat over the years.
